Fishing at Mc Gavins View

just a quick question.. are we able to fish landbased from mc gavins @ NPD? The signs says we are allowed to fish there but I cant find an accessable location. It's all fenced off with no entry signs and it's way too far to fish from the fence.

Can someone clarify?

Legal entry is via the walkway near the toilet block some do climb down down beside the dam wall. Note you need a SIP to fish there.

Walk to the fence line above the rock wall and follow it away from the dam wall until you find a gate and walkway access to the bank area. Hope this helps.

years ago a bloke broke his leg climbing down the rocks, thats why they dont like you doing so, however if you enter as described above you are allowed to fish off same rocks if you can get there.

Was talking to a cod man the other day and he suggested at the right time of the day and if you could negotiate the vegetation the rock wall might be ok.

NO access to the rockwall there is a sign which shows the area you are allowed to fish marked in green this area ends at the second distinct point from the dam wall.
