queensland Tonight Brisbane river

Heading out this afternoon/tonight to the Brisbane river.

Mate I have never fished the river in 6 years since living here so just want to try it as have the night off, anywhere i can get a Jew would be nice.

sorry i cant join you tonight as i have drinking commitments. but about two weeks ago i went for the first time to a place called newstead park. it is right at the mouth of breakfast creek and brisbane river. the spot has a large pontoon and jetty to fish from (im not sure if your supposed to fish on it but everyone does and no has bothered us) there is plenty of live bait off of the lower part of the pontoon if you cast you net back in towards the rockwall bank. we got some big prawns there and no snags all night. we landed five jewfish all undersized but still good fun. and a local there said he gets plenty of threadys if you patient. aim for around the topp of the tide as all our fish were cuaght during this period. i hope this will help and good luck mate.
