cast netting

Have been using Nudgee boat ramp since the closure of Kira st

and have had the pleasure of seeing on more than one occasion cast netters using the pontoon there. The nice thing is they have been cleaning off the pontoon with a bucket of water after every couple of casts. Well done - wish this practice was more common.

More common than what you think mate, unfortunately as usual the bad out weight the good :S

yea common up north never seen anyone cast like that here shoulder out weights the rist but anyday proven so many times

But you know, if 5 people see someone do the right thing, out of that 5 , 1 of them will do the right thing next time, so its a good thing, 1 more person doing the right thing is better then none and that will grow, me personaly i hate seeing crap all over the place, i try to pick up as much as i can when i see it, and i hope everyone on this site does the same thing.

yeah its so easy to take an extra bucket with a rope on the handle for changing water and cleaning up

Cleaning up your own mess used to be a universal concept. Not hard or costly to do. Largely ignored now by people who think everyone else owes them a living.

Great to hear that. I just cringe when i see the locals here leave our jetty in a mess after their night netting and fishing. It's no respect when we have a thousand people useing it every day to go to and from work.
