queensland First threadfin from the river

Just got back in from a memorable session landed a 1.16m 10kg threadfin salmon from the river. Using soft plastics 2-4kg spin rod 12lb braid 15lb leader. Absolutely stoked put up a 20 min fight then broke the landing net getting it in. You hear the stories but dam it feels good to put one in the boat especially after losing a big one at the boat 2 weeks previously. YeeHAAAAAA!!!!!!!

Top effort mate! My first and only to date came in at a whopping 60 odd cm!

Have just researched the net a bit and found out that at this size they are most likely female breeders - so will definitely try to release the next one if its this size (if I get another). Have heard the smaller size ones are better eating too.
