deep cycle false floor

with the installation of my electric i had to find somewhere convenient to mount my deep cycle battery (100amph). weighing in at ~30kg i thought it would be perfect to offset some of the weight up at the bow.

12mm marine ply covered with marine carpet.

i'll let the pictures do the rest.

nice work. stay out of the chop with the battey up the bow tho otherwise your battery will shit its self in no time

Nice job mate but mounting batteries in the bow is not recommended as to much bouncing around could brake the weld joins in the concetion of the battery as it is only a lead weld and it not that solid and only takes a small fracture in it and there goes $200 plusBut thats the down side if you drive with the thought of your battery it should last you for sometime to come.Just a heads up never store you batteries flat even AGM it will shorten the live of them so charge them after every trip even if you only used it for ten minutes

thanks for the tips dunney and dassa, i normally take it easy when it's choppy so i hope to get some life out of it. a ctek is permanently mounted to the battery box lid so an extension power cord plugs in when i'm in the garage.
