2009 Wilderness Systems Tarpon 160

Just over 12mths old and comes with:

Sounder, Humminbird PiranhaMAX 150x

7ah Battery and cradle installed

Carlisle Arctic Paddle, with smart shaft

Insulated bag for rear compartment

Livewell, complies with ABT kayak specs

Anchor

Sea Anchor

BNIB C-Tug Trolley

Scotty Rodholders, 2 on long posts, 1 with alloy post.

Scupper plugs, leashes, small dry bag etc.

Would be a great starter package for anyone wanting to get into offshore yaking or travel long distances in the bay. All you need is some tie down straps, and a PFD.

holy hell! here i was thinkig yaks were a cheap option for a boat! looks awsome. had no idea they were worth so much

Kayaks are like most things to do with fishing, there is cheaper options and more expensive options. For example, you could buy a 12' punt to do the same job as a Skeeter, (this kayak is more towards the skeeter end of the market) both will do the job but some do it better and more efficiently in some circumstances.

Once you add in the cost of a sounder (approx $6-700 in this case) and a paddle that will have you putting more effort into going forward instead of just folding the blade ($350 for this one). As well as a cart ($170) and esky/livewell and the cost does start to get a bit expensive for some.

Having said that, you don't have the other costs associated with owning a boat like rego, servicing, fuel, repairs etc.

This is just another case of horses for courses.
