Fresh water shrimp

G'day guys

I have a few shrimp pots i was gonna use to try and catch some shrimp in the creeks but not sure what bait to use in them. Wondering what people on here use in their pots for shrimp. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mate, i just use red meat...they seem to like it pretty well :-)

Get a small container and poke holes in the lid. Then fill the container with dog or cat biscuits.

Shrimps love it.

It releases slowly so the shrimp cant finish the feed then leave without you getting a chance to get em.

Where is a good creak to catch Shrimp

Kurwongbah is good for freshy shrimp.

You can use a landing net to get them out of the lily's

I have used a soap bar. It worked well in the mary river not to sure how it would work down here..

I have had some luck using just tin tuna and putting one or two holes in it. i would get about 25 in about an hour good sized one during the Christmas holidays in the middle stretches of the Brisbane river.

i use sunlight soap, but any non flavoured soap should be good

I have heard of people using carrot for redclaw maybe it might work for shrimp i dont know.

what do shrimp traps look like? are they the ones with the very fine mesh and 2 small round holes at each end>?
