Spinning for tailor

Hi i am thinking of chasing a few tailor off the beach like everyone will be soon by tossing out the odd slug instead of just tossing piles. So what is the go off the beach would you put braid on a spinning reel if so what size or mono opinions would be great help

Around 10lb braid with a bit heavier mono leader around 1 metre. . Go for a quality clear mono leader and a bright braid.

12 to 15lb mono. No need for touch or finesse with tailor. wire trace if your worried the Tailor might swallow all the hooks far enough to chomp the line..

i always use a trace when targeting tailor on fraser as i hate having to retackle

tailor attack from the tail first- lost about 5 center hooked herring before i realised this. usually using four gangs instead of three helps and you don't need the wire. until you catch a school shark!

I use either 6kg mono or 10kg braid for tailor spinning. 50gm Lazers in chrome are red got for them and don't retrieve at tuna speed, slow it down to a medium pace.

I don't use wire when spinning, just a short length of 40lb hard mono leader. The choppers don't tend to bite us off at all when spinning.
