watersnake wont go.....any ideas

hey all,

My watersnake has stopped working,

its a 44lb bow mount motor and up until now (3years) its been good,

the other day it just wouldnt go though, i did hear a bit of a click or something initially when i switched it on, so i checked all the wiring (perfect) and the battery connections (all ok there too) also tried a mates pedal to no avail.

I then opened the whole thing up when i got home and everything looks normal,

not any real corrosion to speak of and all the wires are in tact,

the circuit board in the head of the unit looks fine too

any ideas as this is well out of warranty now,

Make sure your battery is working correctly. On my first WS it would not work at all apart form the tell tale click when you connect the wires when the battery was not charged fairly high. Put a voltage meter on the battery to check it. otherwise the the Circuit board at the top is pretty cheap and an easy check I suppose.

Is your battery topped up? if not chuck some distilled/dimineralied water in him.

can u isolate the wires running to the motor.

U could get a couple of clip leads and run them from the battery just to see if the motor turns over.

I can't speak any more highly of JW's service! Give them a call and they will sort it out for you mate shouldn't cost to much probably somthing simple.
