ive been told you cant use a cast net unless your in a tidal flow water ?

so you couldnt use one in the npd ? or lake borumba ?

can you use them in a fresh water creek?

NO in fresh creek/river and No in Dams

You need to get your self a copy of Rec fishing rules and regs for Qld from a tackle store. Its the best guide so you know where you can or cant fish and what you can use.

Any creek that has a tidal flow you can use a cast net. If it does not then you are not allowed to use a cast net. An example of this would be Enogerra Creek near me. You are allowed to use a cast net in the creek below the Weir. Above the weir you are not allowed. It can be a little confusing but in reality the reason for using a cast net is to collect live bait, mullet and so on. Mullet tend to stay within the tidal range of a river anyway. If you are concerned maybe post a question on here and I am sure there will be a person that can set you straight. Good luck
