Silver perch?

Hi guys,

I am always doing saltwater fishing, and thinking try fresh water this year.

I am still studying bass fishing and looking forward to practice when the weather gets better, and i am wondering whether there are silver perch in Brisbane water systems.

Stocked in every impoundment exept Kurwongbah.

After the floods could turn up anywhere.

as far as i know there are not that many in the upper brizzy river, ur best bet would be in the dams

Your best bet would definitely be the dams, they tend to pop up every now and then between lots of bass.

I heard theres a truck load of them at springfeild lakes lake.

if i was chasing silvers i would go to the very very upper reaches of the brissy river,just from the couple ive caught just randomly fluked it and the one thing that stood out to me was it aint bass country look for the opposite suroundings bass like. bass like shade lines flowing oxygenated water good grass edges if theres snags well thats great but generally thats what i look for, the silvers were in well ....a stagnant part of the river had hot rock edges no grass banks looked like real yella country there was plenty of massive snags. another thing silvers have rather small mouths compared to the bass.bait selection would be the key to nailing these suckers i reckon.try little balls of bread and take advantage of the silvers scavenger side of feeding habits.
