sold AFO Barter----For Sale or Swap

Its been great to see everyone going through old gear and putting it up for sale! Ive bought a few things and there are a few other bits and pieces Id be after as Im sure other AFO members would be too!

What I was thinking was to start this post (As long as it doesnt go against any rules and regs) and get people to go through gear they dont use wether it be fishing gear or not and post it in here for people to browse through and buy. There may be a better name for the thread and if anyone can think of one I'll change it.

Look forward to seeing some "STUFF"

I think it is a good idea, but I think maybe it should be a thread that people can trade gear instead of for sale, there is already a whole category for that and I reckon it serves it's purpose well. But perhaps a sticky where people can post up gear they have that they are willing to trade for something someone else has could work, I don't know I'm tired and rambling

Have to agree with Manni, wouldn't it be easier to browse through the For Sale Section?

Could be cool to have this as a 'swap' thread though... but that would have it's cons too...

bait runner and rear drag

Shimano Grand Tournament Series 6-12Kg, 12", 2 piece Surf rod

Used only a couple of times at the beach.

I'm looking for a cast net and an ultra light 1-3 style rod

AFO has organised many swap meets over the years where members can meet up and buy, sell and swap things. This is a great way to meet some other members as well.

We have in the past usually tee'd this up near a fishing spot so people attending can also wet a line at before or after the BBQ.

I was just given a couple of deep cycle batteries. I don't know if they're good for marine use but one is up for grabs if someone wants it.

Free if someone can put it to good use but if anyone want to swap for any bits of old fishing gear, I wouldn't say no.

Those easy cast nets have a ring that goes around the net so they open perfectly every time or something like that :dry:

Great idea... but as pointed out there is a swap thread and sifting though items posted on here will become cumbersome and time consuming.

I suggest individual threads for each item with clear titles like

Cast night to swap for sinkers.

Stinky bait esky to swap for anything... etc etc

Once the trade is done, get the thread locked so it sinks to the bottom and current stuff stays on top.

Ok seems to be the general vibe, tend to agree, the motivation was wanting to see more stuff people were getting rid of. If mods want to shut it down go for it :-)
