Well it’s been just under 12 months that there has been a Nordic Stage presence in Australia and we’re finally getting some of our bigger aspirations in motion. For those of you who are still unfamiliar with the brand, Nordic Stage is a Russian designed range of rods built using high end Japanese components. Proud to be a AFO site sponsor, we have commenced introducing the Nordic Stage “Areal†range of rods into Australia (these can be found in the AFO Store) and have ear marked several new models and more varied models to make an appearance in 2012. After a small hiccup in production earlier this year due to the Japanese tsunami disaster, a new order has just gone in to our manufacturers to build a new batch of Areal Rods that you will see in retail stores soon.

We here at Obsession Fishing are excited to announce a couple of additions to our family for 2012. With a desire to get the brand onto the tournament circuit in 2012 it was time to consider some talented individuals to fly the Nordic Stage colors at competitions. It was a firm desire to source some suitable individuals who had already used and loved our rods, not just try and find people who were willing to test them out. In Nabeel Issa and Kendall Soo we found our candidates. Not only are these two anglers experienced and accomplished in the tournament scene, they had already purchased their own Areal rods through AFO and were successfully using them in competitions.

Nabs has been hitting the tournament scene hard since 2008 and has racked up some serious results including numerous 1st placings (2010 Bribie ABT, 2011 Bribie ABT, 2011 Tweed ABT) and countless top 10 placings. In addition to these accolades Nabs can claim the significant titles off:

• ABT Angler Of The Year Runner Up 2009

• ABT Angler Of The Year 2010

• Ranked 1st None Boater For 2010/2011

As serious as Nabs takes his ABT Tournaments there is always time for other pursuits and he takes his Jack and Jew fishing very seriously in whatever SE QLD waterway is producing.

We’re excited to have Nabs join our Obsession Fishing family and look forwards to him doing us (and his other sponsors) proud.

Angler Profile: Kendall “Dell†Soopost-9039-144598723215_thumb.jpg

Dell has been active in the ABT circuit since 2007 fishing as a non boater until 2009 when he decided to splash out and purchase a modest Skeeter zx190, Etec150 H.O. Dell was an easy choice for us for a number of reasons. First of all he has dozens of competitions and good results under his belt in both professional and social comps (including 1st Place in the Bream category at AFO’s very own State Of Origin Fishing Competition in 2011). In addition to this Dell had already retired an arsenal of other high end band name rods in favor of a huge line up of Nordic Stage Areals. This un-obligated commitment to the brand, his valuable feedback and his fishing abilities proved to us that he was exactly the type of candidate we were looking for. Dell is also sponsored by our close friends at Damiki/Pontoon 21 lures and we’re proud to be lined up alongside such a respected brand in the comps.

A massive thanks from the Obsession Fishing goes out to the new members of our family. 2012 will be an interesting year for us with a lot of new products and ventures planned. These include the consolidation of our Areal project, the introduction of some other very cool models and our venture forwards in obtaining our Travel Agents license. This will be put to good use in organising and managing fishing trips to locations such as Jewel Reef and in the future other far flung angling paradises and even local ones. Our new website has been launched (http://www.obsessionfishingaustralia.com/) as well and although in its infancy you can expect to see interesting updates and announcements here over the next few months.

Happy fishing!

Obsession…
