Raby Bay Canals

Hi all

This is my first report on this forum. Fished landbased Saturday afternoon around Raby Bay. Started at the canal mouth with a couple of small bream and tarwhine before I decided to try somewhere else. Trying to find a spot out if the wind proved difficult however I persisted and found a canal with good structure that I hadn't fished before but wind was still putting a big bow in the line. Fished for about half an hour and had the rod unattended while I packed up ready to leave when I look up and see the rod tip bent over. After a short fight a 25cm bream was landed - my first keeper of the afternoon. That seemed to spark things with another couple of small bream and moses perch (2 just under at 24cm) finishing off the afternoon/evenings fishing.Get quite a few moses there but rarely any of legal size.

Bait was frozen prawns and whitebait.

Not a lot to bring home but I have added to my knowledge of what is a fairly productive area.

Cooked the bream tonight with a bit of soy, ginger and chopped shallots - very nice.

Cheers

Chris
