fishing brisbane river today, what baits to use

Hi

i am going to fish brisbane river today, dont know what baits to use, i dont mind catching catfish ect as i just want a bit of sport. can anyone give me a quick reply please.

Whenever I'm going for a lazy fish (too lazy to throw the cast net or plastics), I just grab $5 worth of green prawns from the local supermarket, peel them and cut the tail into 3 pieces. Is a better bait than little frozen bait prawns I reckon and probably cheaper too.

While you're at the supermarket grab a mullet fillet too.

I hit the Brissy river yesterday and cleaned up over 60 catfish, biggest being 42cm, with a packet of tweed bait prawns and squid from the local servo. The Brissy was running pretty hard so we went about 50 meters into the Bremer from the Junction and were pulling them in one after the other. Just anchor up near one of the countless fallen trees and your rod wont stop bending!

Just watch those spikes!!!
