queensland Broadwater Report (Finally)

Hey Guys!

I have taken all the advice over the last year or so it has taken me to finally do a report to be proud of!

So here it is,

24th @ broadwater

so the night before, i was umming and ahh'ing all night to go fishing the next day

and started thinking to myself is it worth the time or fuel i convinced myself it was !

so set my alarm for 4:30AM got down to the broady. And it was still pitch black

so i went and got some bait.

and nothing happen'd ! so I kept fishing as the sun slowly started to rise, started getting some nips and tugs big ones!

then something miraculous happen'd !!!! my bait was gone and as im winding it in the hook slowly cutting a 'V' in the top water SNAP BAM SUCK SPLASH!!!! My jaw dropped...

So I ran to the tackle box and grabbed a natural coloured bubble pop surface lure OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally got very serious action on it SO EXITED... I fumbled heaps of casts and retrieves something massive

that looked like a pike at first way to big for a whiting turned out to be a whiting spat the lure back in my face literally and swan away to safety (99.9%) sure it was a massive whiting approx 30-45cm

any way heres what i landed ill stop talking your ear's off!

Ps. everything gets thrown back even if its legal so photos are rushed :cheer:

[1st Session little school of tailor] caught about 5-6 of these biggest was 20 odd cm

this last ones a pike for sure it nelly bit my finger! but the first fish i caught on the popper was a monster

P.s MOST caught on the bubble pop still no success with normal lures

only the tailor and small whiting was caught on bait

hahaha thats gold mate A Lot of people struggle to catch fish using poppers. You are doing well, persistence is the key

nice work mate, ive only caught a few things on poppers before. by a few i mean just tailer and probably about 4 of them. done well

Nice one mate! Surface fishing is exciting stuff isn't it! When you're fishing diving lures, find the time is less important, but when you're on surface, first or last light is the key!

ill keep that in mind ill do surface lures in the morning and lures till noon

Hell yes well worth it though i have wasted money on much worse things :S
