tld 50 prob and repair suggestions

hey guys just recently purchased a tld 50 and it has decided to start reeling backwords.i'm thinking its the dog but does anyone have any other suggestions.i'm pretty clueless when it comes to opening them up and dont really trust myself.do you guys have any contacts for a good reel repairer who does good rates on the northside.cheers

put it on your rod backwards. it will work fine. remember you will only hook the fishes freckle

Ask him if he can fix a slight bend in a steez rod ?

If it is a natural bend in a blank or a bend from leaving it leaning up against something you can often straighten a rod back out by taping it to a broom handle and leave it out in the sun for a week.

If it is a snappy bend just buy a decent rod to begin with.

Smart arse!! lol left it in the car one day in summer and the last two guides looks like there not on straight cos of a slight bend

Tape it straight to a broom handle or something dead straight and leave it in the sun and it will straighten back out again.

Luckily it is an easy fix.

will just be the dog spring i thnk its called take off the side and have a look may have just slipped out or snapped if snapped give shimano a call i got one sent out for my 15 for about 8 bucks including postage pre basic real to pull apart as well so you should be fine

yer was thinking of opening her up ross.how much would i need to undo before being able to see the dog spring and finding out the prob.if i have to undo affair bit to see it might just leave it.

Most of the right side of the reel but tere isn't alot too them and if you do just make sure you put it back together with the drag lever on free very basic reel check out the schematics on the net not sure if 50 is the same but assuming so mate make sure you keep all the bits and pieces and if you get stuck most repairs should be able to put it back together for ya
