red claw

im planning a trip to somerset dam to catch some red claw hopefully!!!! .can anyone tell me how deep to drop the pots in i was thinking around the 20ft mark and check them every hour till i find them .Any advice would be great as a big catch for me is 12 from 16 pots not a very good strike rate but the kids enjoy it. You may find that with the current cool weather, catch rates may not be that crash hot.

weather temp doesnt seam to make any difference to me any way

I went 2 weeks ago for redclaw, although land based. We threw out pots near timber and had good success. Used fruit skins and half baked potatoes. Checked every 2 hours.

Dry dog/cat food, leave pots in over night if you are camping, close to over hanging branches (less then 5 ft). Good luck!
