Yep to drive a rod building lathe got the rest but need like an old singer motor with foot peddle

it 's a bug you know it comes back and bites ya in the bum building your own stiks

No havent got one mate uses sewing motor to drive reel lathe but microwave oven motor to drive dryer will take some photos next week

you could try reverse garbage - they have heaps of stuff recycled from factories - heaps of weird off cuts and old machinery and comp parts.. they are at 296 montague rd west end 38449744

if you've got a few dollars to throw about there's a mob on the south side called exclusive tackle that has professional rod lathes on special at the moment for $550.oo they're pretty good looking units too

i built a hand powered one years ago using 8 shopping trolly wheels it worked a gem but i can see why you want power how a bout a cheap power drill and gear it back with the belt drive this way the motor can spin at a spead it like and the rod can go slow the pedal could be hard to replicate though:unsure:
