queensland The Passage 4/11/12

Fished the north end of the Pumicestone passage last sunday morning. Pumped some yabbies near the bells ck ramp and was going to throw the net for some live bait, but got too keen to wet a line so canned the idea of throwing the net. Morning was overcast, but no wind. anchored up with only 3 boats around and in a blink of the eye there were 20 more with jetskis flying up the middle (previously owned a jet ski so i cant get to mad at them!).

Ended up with 5 bream and tarwhine, longest going 35cm. All caught using yabbies and on a $10 special shimano rod and reel combo from the boat show. Definately has paid for itself! Tried with a little surecast popper for a few whiting over the sandbars but didnt come up with anything.

Out came the sun and with that more jetskiers, so it was time to call it a day.

mid week is the best if u going to come up here. the weekends are very busy.

no mate i was just south of bells ck. i have heard they are catching snapper at bullocks, i might have to try there soon.

yeh mate , bagged out ther the other day on snapper / squire !!! round 50 60 cm mark
