John's boat building project.

John is my landlord, and at 74 years young is very active.

Sometime ago his old wooden boat sank, John recently salvaged as much of the old girl as he could.

Then he built a platform to build his boat on, using the salvaged remains of the old girl as templates he was able to nut out the design. The original was 60 years old so finding engineering drawings is out of the question. John expects the build to take about a year.

What was wrong with the old hull after salvage that made it no good.

If the grub was not too bad in her, a re calk and putty and she would be like a new one.

Awesome fun refurbishing old wooden hulls.
