Help please! What is this? What's it worth?

Hey guys, found this telescope sitting around in my grandparents old shed while cleaning it out and getting ready to sell up so as per the title can anyone help??

The brand on it is Zuiho, made in Tokyo Japan and it all appears to be intact and in great condition and still has the stand and box. Any help would be greatly appreciated

It's a dumpy level mate.

Depending if it reads in reverse or up the right way would depend on price.

Thanks Stu now how can I tell if it reads in reverse or right way up?

It's been a while mate....but from memory look through it at a tape measure or something and get someone to lift it up and if it's the inverted type it will read it going down...... i think.....lol

Been 20 years since i owned the older style so i am going of my foggy old memory.

dumpy level bud theodolite can be used as a dumpy but a dumpy cant be used as a theodolite ! best way to find out the value is to take it into a instrament service place they will tell you if its any good not many use dumpys any more ( but me ) they if set up correctly are alot more accurate than laser levels . i still use my old wild dumpy for leveling over about 75m

i could not find anything online about it but it looks to be of ok quality . if you look through the lens does it have a split bubble off to one side ? and does it show deg if rotated ?

I wouldn't have a clue mate I won't get a chance to get back there til next week now so I'll have a look at it then
