Jarvis Walker Watersnake opinion

So I have no idea on electric bow motors but all I know is that i can only afford a Javis Walker water-snake for a tinny I will be getting which will be around 10-12ft. I would just like to get people's opinion on what would be the best water-snake for a boat of that size and that I can use on a bigger boat in the future around 4m???

I will have around $400-$600 to spend on it!

Watersnakes are a good motor Sari.

I would be looking at a 54lb bow mount and that size will be great when you upgrade the boat later on.

Biggest thing is to have enough battery capacity for how ever long you need to use it.

A 100 to 120 amp hour will give a few hours running if you do not drive it flat out everywhere.

Have a look at the slither at Dinga

http://www.dinga.com.au/catalogsearch/result/?q=watersnake+slither&category=

I would suggest the 54 lb 54inch shaft model as it will still shift your proposed larger tinney.

If you become a member of dinga you get free freight. Their motors come from their SA warehouse and normally take 3 to 4 das to arrive in brissy.

At their price you can include at 100 or 120 a/h deep cycle and still be within budget bit a charger will be another extra that you will need.Talk to Aussie 123 about a charger.

Cheers

Absolute Garbage, I would advise against getting a watersnake, I have had three and they've all turned to poo. The last bow mount was fixed three times and in the end it went in the wheely bin. Save your pennies and get a Minn Kota, if you research enough on the web they do occasionally come up in your price rang or second hand is another option. I will never get a watersnake product again apart from the quick release mount.

Do you recon you may have run it to hard? What were the problems?

At least watersnake use tinned wire in their saltwater models. Minnkota is just ordinary copper and if you are unfortunate enough to cop a wave over an bow mount in about 2 months you can kiss it goodby as it will be all green,The circuit boards may be waterproof but the spade terminals are not and once the corrosion starts it creeps down into the cables and they go hr.
