queensland REdclawing Maroon

His guys,

Spend a few days a Maroon Dam chasing redclaw. I've never done this before.

Stopped at a fruit and vege shop on the way out there. Bought a bag of carrots as bait. AS I was told these crays are vegetarian.

MAn what a feed. 300 redclaw when we checked the pots a7 9pm.

Not knowing what to expect compared to the humble yabby that I am used to. These things were huge. Inot the pot and we were eating a late night redclaw feast.

WE got about the same numbers when we rechecked the pots the following morning.

just went to Maroon for a quick afternoon session in the sticks on Saturday afternoon, was blown away by the amount of floats in the water. Thought I was looking at a Olympian kayak set up with hundreds of floats in perfect lines. Made it hard to flick lures around avoiding the pots, if the redclaw are there they are going to get hammered this week end (I thought it was 4 pots per person?????) Anyway got some nice Bass in the high thirties on Smak spinnerbaits and was a cracker afternoon.
