queensland User Friendly Boat Ramps Port of Brisbane

G'day everyone,

I am just after some boat ramps that is close to the port of brisbane and is easy access as me and my father are beggininers and aren't advanced at the moment so need a user freindly boat ramp close to the poo shoot.

Please just a couple of boat ramps.

Northside = Pinkenba

Southside = Whyte Island (or Port of Brisbane)

Theres one off kirra st. Its only about 20m in length as well. I chose that one for my first launch of my tinny. I was lucky I went during the week as my lack of reversing skills took me about 20 attempts to get the boat in. Once your in its I would say about 800m to the mouth.

Kirra Street is the Pinkenba ramp. Probably more like 2k to the poo shoot (not being argumentative, just trying to help).

Kira st is a bad ramp but, currents smashes you hard, how big is your boat?

I agree,Pinkinba ramp is a pain to put your boat back on with the current. Pay to go over the bridge to the port of brisbane ramp. has a good pontoon to tie up to.

There is also quite a good ramp at end of Aquarium Avenue on the southside that would be a k or so from the poo shoot. Only thing parking may be an issue as there is no dedicated parking area only on street parking.

+1 for port of Brisbane ramp. Good ramp with pontoon not much run. It does get packed on the weekend so get there early if the is good. And remember to pull your rods out of the launchers before heading back in nearly snapped all mine once and if heading into the bay from there don't bother trying to sneak out to the east it is a narrow shallow channel shoot out the brissie river
