Try the freshest bait you can find, and be as far away from the crowds and noise as you can get, there's a few little creeks and some canals on that system. Usual times - dawn, dusk, turn of the tide.

can't help you any more than that, as i'm still trying to figure out the place

The tide really rips through the area right in front of the caravan park and along the sand spit there. Way too fast to fish, as you have to go light along there due to the fishing pressure it recieves.

I have managed a few 40+ flatties and decent bream and whiting along that spit just on cured worms and frozen prawns from the bait shop opposite the Maroochy RSL, the old bloke in there is pretty helpful.

Also you can try for bait off the bridge at Duporth Ave and the piers at Cotton Tree, don't bother throwing your net if the tide is on it's way out though, the bait fish just disapear.

I'm thinking of popping down there with my yak for a quick morning session before i head to Brisbane for the day.
