Well it's been a while since I have posted mainly due to a road trip and hectic start back at work coupled with the weather. I am thinking about hitting the river tonight despite the 20 plus knot forecast and was wondering if anyone else is braving it this weekend?

To windy for me this weekend. If I was going to go anywhere I would try some skinny water somewhere.

Not heading out, myself. With her many twists and bends the lower river should have some sheltered spots. Good luck.

Thanks gents. I figure if I can get a few poddy mullet or live prawns you just never know. Launch from breakfast creek to hide from the wind. Cast the net around there and go for a cruise toward the mouth and see what shelter I can find with fishy structure or edges. The boat needs a good run after a couple of months on land

Not sure what direction the wind is coming from but Breaky Creek and the mouth area is not a bad spot for Jew and Threadies. Bullies too if you're into them.

I did Friday and Saturday night. It was too blowey to get anywhere near my usual haunts near the mouth. The water was thick with catfish Friday night. My work mate and novice fisherman got a bit excited last night and instead of letting what was a good fish judging by the first run take line, he tried to reel whilst the fish was running and lost it. Despite no glory I enjoyed just getting back on the water
