On Their Way Back

After a few weeks of huge decline in numbers caught out at North Pine Dam, it seemed yesterday that they might just be swimming back from their trip out of our areas.

The shrimp are still scarce, but there's enough to not run out during the trips! Dino was once again kind enough to have me in the boat, and we got stuck into 'em!

Before we did any shrimp sacrificing, the fish were latching on to our lures again. They've gone pretty quiet on lures after a really good patch not long ago, so this trip was great to see some fatties hooking up.

The wind was nowhere to be seen first up, but by the time we got to the second stop for a bait fish, it had set in. We hung around for a while in it though, because the fish were still hungry!

Ended up with all fish easily oversize, and some of the fat winter specials that really are quite chunky haha.
