Merry Xmas to all AFO'ERS,  after the past two days getting "monstered" in the raby bay canals, managed to get this little beauty this morn. Launched at 4.30am each morn, headed towards "spot j " first up, after finding the bait schools proceeded to drop soft vibes and zman swimmers 4" ,1/4 oz jigheads to hold on the bottom with the fast flowing tide. Several hop's thru the bait resulted each morn with a blistering run out of the canals or straight back into the structure. This on 10lb line didn't last long either way, so this morn out came the 20lb and 20lb fluro leader. 1/4oz jigheads zman paddlerz 5" in pearl white, first drop, and after a 10 min fight a beatiful bar of silver appeared,  73cm (spewin) max, 2cm short aaarrrggghhh! Released to fight again. After a couple more runs thru the schools and a couple of short lived 10 sec hook ups, I called it quite around 9 and headed home, see you tomorrow jewfishies . EZY

Nice fish, Ezy. They are a classic looking fish aren't they.  With only about a week to go in 2015, I think I can confidently say that this will be a totally jewie free year for me.  Pretty sad about that.

Nice work Ian, sounds like you have those canals well sussed. I looked at the photos in reverse order and thought you had a metre plus one at first!!!  Have a great Xmas mate and hope you get a legal one to cook on the BBQ.

Thanks everyone, some of the ones that got away I'm sure are bigger, they felt heavier and more powerfull, hopefully a meter fish ain't far away.
