A Golden Ending

First trip of the year, and headed out to North Pine to try and replicate my last session out there. Arrived at the gate and forgot it was Saturday, so the hordes of others in their bigger and faster boats were already there to welcome me. I waited my turn at the ramp, trying to decide whether to avoid all the other boats and go upstream, or just go about my business at the spots I had already planned on visiting...hmmm... Geared up, and off I went. Picked up one Bass trolling to the first spot, and managed to find a couple more once there. Not like the other day though. Off to the second spot! It looked to be the same, until I accidentally went a bit shallow trolling around a point, and got smashed by my first 50+ Bass for the year. That didn't take long! She had a couple of friends nearby who I found on the next pass, but that was it for spot two! I stalled for a while on four fish, not really seeing much action. If it wasn't for @Dinodadog being a legend and sharing some valuable intel (he was already on his way to a half century), my day probably would have ended sooner and without anything worth reporting! Instead, the Bass kept coming in a steady stream for the next couple of hours. Lots of smaller sizes, but when you're getting double hookups every few minutes, who cares?! They were sitting down a bit deeper than last trip, hugging the bottom. Crazy Deep Poltergeist and Codger lures did the trick enticing the fishies. After a while, the wind started to pick up, and I considered calling it quits. I stood up to reach my GoPro and reset it because it was playing up, hoping to record a double hookup before heading off. One of my rods started screaming and I thought, "That'd be right, missed out on filming it". I initially thought it was probably another average Bass, and so didn't exactly hurry to grab it from the holder. It wasn't until I noticed some VERY distinct head bobbing action in the rod, that I quickly fixed the GoPro, and grabbed the rod. A short while later, 60 centimetres of solid Golden Perch surfaces, and that...that is when I called it quits. Finished up with 31 Bass, and 1 little Yella :D
