Went to NPD this morning with Jim and Jason. Forkies were plentiful and I managed to get spiked in the finger which lit me up for a while until soaking in hot water eased the pain.

First spot we pulled up 6 forkies including a treble hook up so we moved down to the floats where there were plenty of small bass and a couple of yellas. When we ran low on bait Jim switched over to blades and caught bass,tilapia,tandans and of course forkies.

Of the 40 odd bass we caught only 6 were over 35 and probably half under 30cm.

At least we caught some fish and Jim and Jayson took a couple home.

The big girl was released.

I can sympathise with you about the catfish spike Ray. I stood on one once when I was trying to dehook it.  The spike went in really deep in the soft part of the arch of my foot. I could feel the poison working up my leg then passed out briefly. Not a lot of fun.  Good to see you got among the bass. Again.

Ouch! I hear they are very painful. I hope you don't get an infection. Well done on getting a few fish

Unfortunately forkies are getting more common in NPD.

Same thing happened to me. Won't forget that pain anytime soon
