Vhf Radio

Hi guys,

Just getting back into fishing, new boat and dusting off all the gear that's been stored away.

New boat has a VHF radio in him. Where is the best place to do the VHF radio course to get the certificate?

Many VMR locations hold training courses. You're best of to check with your local one to see if they do it, or can advise the closest one that will

X2.  You can also do the course online for around $60-$100.  A lot cheaper than the local VMR for a few hundred.

You still have ot find somewhere to do the exam dont you?

NZ offer the course and exam online, their course is recognised here, dont know if anyone has bothered doing it that way though.

 

Personally having used VHF for donkey's years on land (where you do not require a license), cant really see the point.
