Bass On Swimbaits! Hinze Report

Recommended Posts

Hi All, The fishing has improved a lot with a drop in water temp for us lure fishos, most fish have been taken on surface in the late afternoon just after the sun has dropped behind the hill. The highlights have been 2 bass my mate has caught on a jackall swimbait. I knew they would work well as I lost a good fish on a megabass i-slide a few months back. Lures that have been working lately are bassman spinnerbaits, imakatsu alive chatters, osp yamato jnrs, osp bent minnows, jackall chibitarel and megabass 100mm anthrax. Excuse the quality of some of the pictures as i saved them off facebook.

Cheers and tight lines. Glenn.

Awesome. I took 60 kids from work to the natural arch today and we meandered along the road passing several Hinze spots.

My first thoughts were geeeez I have to get up there soon.

Especially up in that timbered country.

Does anyone know if you can launch at the environmental center up there?

Cracking fish :)

Thanks for the replies guys, yes @samsteele115 love using the better quality gear. @Angus yes mate you can launch up there no worries. (fish your way up to the top or paddle downstream and to your right, there is a good bay in there) don't mess about with light leader, you will pay for it.1-2 metres of 16-30 pound is pretty standard in my boat these days.

Cheers, Glenn.

Thanks mate. Might try soon. So you can pull into the center to park?

Sorry to ask but google mapping does not tell much.

Looks like amazing country though.

Yes @rayke1938 they were about half way upstream. it is a magic place to fish @Angus can be hit and miss at times but when they are on its a heap of fun trying to extract them from the trees and there is always a bonus saratoga on offer. Just after you go over the bridge you make a sharp left and there is a little access road that you can park at and just drag your yak to the water, not far at all.

Cheers, Glenn.
