Nerang River Fishing

Spending the weekend in Surfers Paradise with the family.  As I haven't really been fishing in the Gold Coast,  just want to find out what the fishing is like in Nerang River?

Bare in my mind I will be land based fishing. What's the fishing like around Chevron Island?

Mate my advice is google maps is your friend. There are so many bridges, parks etc down there with water access. I would just cover ground and see how you do.

I don't do much salt water fishing these days but i'd be doing exactly what @Angus said if your fishing with lures. Also if you get the chance at night time, any bridge with lights on it  and some current pushing through will hold fish. Be prepared for anything!!

Surface lures, blades and plastics were always my favourites for this style of land based fishing.

Around the Council chambers is a good whiting spot and also has some Javelin fish/grunter bream.

Use live blood worms.
