Kimberly Video. Better Late Than Never.

Thanks Brian,

It was not a pleasant night. The video doesn't really capture how bad it was. The rain was coming down so hard that the search light did little to help see land, which was to close for comfort. The lightening really helped us to determine where we were in relation to all the rocks around us.

It was good to see morning that's for sure.

Nothing does it justice, it just has to be experienced.

It is hard to explain, like when we went into an inlet, we timed it for slack tide because we know how dangerous the whirl pools can be when the tide is pumping. We look up at cliffs 100m meters high each side of us and then look at the sounder with a depth of over a 100 meters deep in the mouth of the inlet!  We have to travel  50km+ to get that sort of depth around here and to think at one time it would have been 200 meters deep.

Just now, tugger said:

A planning nightmare so.many variables you.boys have balls of steel it looks epic

A lot of planning and still there were lots of things that could not be accounted for.

So many islands etc that the tide can run in different directions which takes it toll on fuel consumption. We had some near misses and at times it felt like everything was out to get us. So relaxing but also always on alert.

So looking forward to next years trip.
