Quintrex 420 Renegade

The 420 renegade is what I’m looking at getting, problem is I only have 10k

Was hoping I could buy the hull and trailer brand new, let me know the price of that if anyone knows, and then buy a second hand motor

Considering it’s around 17k brand new for the TS version with a 40hp Evinrude, I should be able to get it for 10-11k with a second hand motor?

If I were you. I would swap it over. Buy a second hand hull and trailer and a brand new motor. Hulls will last almost forever, motors don’t. Up in FNQ, I have seen Renegades go a little over 10k. You could go for another model and purchase a much larger boat (4.5m+) for the same price. I am eyeing a 5.2m TABS with an Evinrude (500 hours) for 16k. There are much cheaper options though. When you say a little over 10k for the renegade are you talking hull, motor and trailer? And I’ve got my mind set on the renegade, seems like a perfect boat for my needs

Just make sure you get the second hand motor thoroughly checked out by a marine mechanic you know you can trust and ideally ensure the owner can show service records, etc. @samsteele115 used to have one of these boats and clocked up PLENTY of k's chasing tuna in the bay - good looking tinny!

When I am talking about the 420 Renegade. I was meaning the lot. It had a Yamaha tiller steer on the back. This is a different one but there were ones in my area (FNQ). Obviously, they went quick. Providing you aren't in a rush, you should pick up a steal eventually (and especially in these circumstances, many are selling their boats).
