Has anyone used electric fencing for stock.

Just want to know what I need to get without

buying stuff I don't need 

Need about 200 mtrs.

we used to use it about 20 years ago for cattle. Grandad made his own line thread things to tie around posts and trees with a piece of garden hose with wire wrapped around it instead of paying for all the poles...

Can use star pickets no problem, just like to know 

what wire is the best, braid/rope,cord/ tape etc.

Would go for solar set up using for strip grazing.

We used to use them but I am in no way able to give you advice on what is the best. 

Star pickets are good just make sure you get the insulators. 

So many options on the market these days. Our solar one was fine and kept the horses in.

You could probably just use a strong barbwire fence depending on what the stock is.

Yeah got the whole place fenced with 4 barbs.

Got 2 creek crossings and wanted to run electric up the side when

the creek washes away the flood gate and I can repair it when

she stops running.

Sort of temporary,  quick fix sort of thing.
