Snapper

on bait, bought $5.00 banana prawns from Coles.

However, last night I went to Wynnum again, there are only one snapper and one bream eat my bait, I think because not wind and not wave?

I just a 3 months fishing beginner, only thing I learn is to buy the fresh bait rather than the BCF prawns....

I used:

$35 Kmart rods & reel combo, $13 Kmart 30lbs braids main line, unknow 30lbs mono line, size 4 hooks; and

$135 Daiwa beefstick spinning rod, $189 Daiwa Tierra 5000D-C real, Shimano 30lbs braid main line, unknow 30lbs mono line, size 5 hooks.

Both two rods & reel set works on Sunday night.

What I got before Sunday is, bream, flathead, whiting, eel, and hairtail(got a lots in last month at Moloolaba River near the underwater world). That is why I'm so happy to see the new fish show on my eyes.

Could any pro/experience fisher tell me how to know when I could go out for fishing with more chance? Sunday night there are more wind and wave than last night, and more fish eat the bait. It's any relation between that? Because I have to work every weekday, so only time I can go out for fishing is 8pm to mid-night, land based only.

Please give me some tips or experience for a self learning / fishing beginner. Thanks

You should not use Coles prawns for bait, it is not allowed -

https://www.daf.qld.gov.au/checkyourbait (check this link)

You need to look at what time the tides are. Different fish will usually bite most at particular times of the tide. e.g. the last 2 hours of the runout tide is good for flathead. This will also vary depending on each location. Take note of what you catch and when and you will figure out different patterns for different species.

I'm not sure that the wind plays much of a role where you are fishing, but I know in dams they say it is best to fish where there is an onshore breeze.

Thanks mate, now I know I should not use the prawns from supermarket.....no one tell me about that before....

My farther tell me that if not wind and wave at the salt water area, will less fish during the lower oxygen level.....

He might wrong, but I don't know....

I usually go around the tide time, not matter high or low, because I only can go out after 8:30......

The location I went are Willington point, Victoria point, Wynnum, Manly boat hauber  morning side, port of Brisbane boat rump, which around 20 mins drive from my house.
