A decent overseas tackle website?

So, I decided I needed(?) a new reel. As you do. After a bit of research I decided a Shimano 19 Ocea Jigger F Custom 3000HG would fit the bill. So I did some price research and found they were basically $799 plus delivery (give or take a dollar. And in my experience everyone takes a dollar, rather than gives a dollar. Anyhow, back to the story). 

Then I found Discovery Japan where the same reel was supposedly $617 delivered! So, being the stupid old bastard that I am, I ordered one. And guess what? It arrived today and seems to be an actual Shimano reel! Even the correct one. Just letting everyone know in case they are in the market for reels (that’s probably restricted to Japanese made reels, but who knows?). Photos below. 
 

P.S. I’ve had the reel for nearly two hours now and the handle hasn’t even fallen off yet!

The knife in the photo and video is sitting there waiting to be sharpened (and has been for two weeks now) on my special German made sharpening machine (which I also really needed). It is more likely to disintegrate from rust than get sharpened. And it’s stainless steel!

There are several cheap Japanese sites....there is no way of telling which ones have a better deal on any day apart from visiting them each and comparing.....they don't usually come up on search engines that well searching for products.

Always good when you find that deal though.

I'm still in a tackle ban phase, but I will keep these Japanese stores in mind when I re-emerge.

Dunno about the shimano stuff, but the daiwa stuff is awesome.

I’m just going on recommendations from an expert at catching bluebone. I need all the help I can get.

And 9/0 inline Gamakatsu hooks were the recommendation.

Ahhh yes. 

I've seen the pictures. 

Very inspiring. 

I screenshot one and sent it to a mate. He's been chasing them for a while. He does okay, but nothing like the addicts fish to date. He can't get them up.

It deflated him a little at the start when he saw the pic, but that turned into determination to chase them even more. 

 

I've caught similar size fish offshore, but bay blueys are something else. 

The ones offshore resemble what I can only imagine a stubborn staffy terrier tied to the end of the line bouncing all the way up. 2m to 3m rod tip movements in a split second. 

 

I run that line on my popping gear. 

Good for about 100lb. Knot strength is brilliant. FG to leader. 

 

Hitzky swears by those reels.

Shimano Saltiga or is that Daiwa Saltiga?  I thought there was Shimano Ocea?

I have the Ocea braid on my Ocea Jigger 2000.  They are lovely reels.

I buy all my reels off the japanese stores now - the savings on the Ocea Jigger is not as signfiicant as with some other reels. My Conquest 300MD was about $400 less than price here.

Digitaka.com and Japanlureshop.com are my two favourites.  Sadly they rarely have any line in greater than 300m spools.  So far bought about 10 reels through them for myself and friends without drama.  

Did you see there is now the Ocea Jigger LD (lever drag)….not in stock at either of those two stores yet but looks the goods.

Now I need an overhead rod to suit. I have a Live Fibre Venom PE5-10 but it’s a Deep Jig Spin and I need the overhead.
