lost my new $350 abu baitcaster

i was fishing mud island and the mouth of the brizzie last nite and i lost my new abu garcia revo-s baitcaster setup ova the back of the boat when it was taken by what i thaught was a shark or a ray?

it took off in a very big hurry and picked the rod up straight out of the boat and proceeded to dive into the depths!

if anyone is fishing out at the rock wall in the next few days and hooks up to a very nice rod and reel combo can you please return it?

i know its not likely but it is worth a try?

on the other hand! i did get my first bullie and we did have a moast enjoyable adventure!

report!!!

plenty of little squire, moses, grinners and bream bitting around the northen tip of mud !

and plenty of little sharks and rays at the mouth of the brizzie at the northen tip of the rock wall!

they were both biting on prawn and pilchard but didnt seem to like the liveies as much ?

sharks were caught on a whole prawn or just a huge prawn head!

mine were caught on 6lb with a 10lb leader and a 1/0 hook!

cheers Ian [img size=480]http://www.australianfishing.com.au/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/100_3218__Custom_.jpg

the worst thing was telling the misses!:S she personaly picked it out and got it for my birthday!

i sent her a text!

she sent one back saying its ok i will get you another one!:woohoo:

gotta love the misses!

i guess all we can do now is laugh about it:laugh:

i kinda still feel like crying though? :pinch:

i was so close to diving in and blind searching for it but the bullies put me off that idea pretty quick!

Nope not covered. Just like your contents insurance on your home, sporting equipement (fishing, diving and waterskiing gear while in use is excluded in the policy mate. Sorry.

Congrats on the shark though mate. You should head out with us friday or saturday from the ramp north side of the mouth of bris river.

Mate, have a look at the Revo Inshore. I reckon for the sort of fishing you do it'd be better because it has a bigger line capacity, is designed for salt water and comes with an optional power handle. Plus it's the same price.

I nearly bought one the other day. Only reason I didn't was I spent my money on a rod I was after.

People catch sail fish on these things.

Oh and yeah it comes in LHW which is way better IMO.

You can get em pretty cheap on Ebay too. Lee found this but it's expired now.

All it needed was an apostrophe and you could have avoided Ellicat's sharp whit.
