braid on small overheads

i dont chase only big sharks sure they are great but im also chasing flathead and bream and i like to cast a lure sx60 is a good one. has anyone got expeerience on what is the best braid to put onto my reel. i want to cast long i prefer not to use a eggbeater reel as i control the fight best with overheads.

Ando what was that stuff you sold me at Jones's? It was awesome. I could easily pluck out even the most annoying wind/braid knot.

I prefer spinning reels but am looking forward to giving my culcutta a crack in the kayak in the bay. Hopefully soon!

if you want a good braid for a bit cheaper go the yamatoyo super PE it costs about 65 bucks.

or,

go the sunline super PE about 40 bucks.

both good true braided lines i have had experience with the sunline and its great stuff

yeh that sounds more my price, what poundage do you recommend for the bred and butter species.

20lb would handle everything you would come across in the rivers this is what i use for the bream flattie jewies and all that biz

Like Bass, Bream Flatties? 6lb or 8lb with 8lb or 10lb leder respectively.

i use 6lb currently for bream,bass,flatties,trevally on a small spinning job.

you could go about 10lb to be a bit safer

i have heard if uget a line about 40 pounds on a true braid line it will unravel and u can then get 3 spools of about 10-15pounds but firelines wont.

Gee you'd be keen!

Fireline is not a true braid, its a gelspun, IE a fused line, so you would have no hope of unraveling that.

I have a really nice american braid, (cant remember the brand), but as it wears, it actually has an outer woven casing that comes off. As it is only 6lb braid this happens often!

You could go for Tuf Line. Usually you can get a 150m spool of 10lb or 15lb for around $30 from BCF.

I'd go the 15lb. You'll be able to stop Cod with that.

But if you're only going to target Bream and Flathead, 10lb would be better:)

Some us us argue over this but I've found that lighter braids tend to suffer from line digging after fighting a decent fish. Going for a heavier braid can help. Varivas is worth the extra dollars.

I also like 20lb Tuff line XP. Worked great on my last BC before it died.

yeh i think heavier like 20 would suit me cause i dont have a lot of experience with light gear. if i get a dig in on light line id be pretty psyced if i lost the expensive line.
