This is what happens when the reels are placed into rod holders and the stem gets damaged thus weakening it

i don't quite get u rodman. i think that reel's in perfect working condition. it's just the friction between the drag washer and main gear causing heat and burn the drag washer IMO.

but i'd like to hear ur idea. what do u think happened to the reel?

no point shortie they are fishing for halibut and its pretty much straight up and down fishing

that run would be heading straight for the bottom

the spun thing with these giant hallibut is they go absolutely berzerk when you gaff them so they usually shoot them with a handgun when they get them on the surface to make it safe to boat them

they grow to over 1000kg
