Hi Guys,

I thought I would throw this out there. After this current scheule of FOM comps I have a suggestion for future. The crappy weather played hardball with poor old bill fish so I got to thinking.

How about the FOM is selected on members votes. It could be any species as long as it was caught in the nominated month. Members can only vote once so expect a rush at the EOM but that would be part of the fun.

As to prizes, if a sponsor wants to give you something, great if not so what! But what would be good, I suggest an onsite trophy thread showing all winners (past included) and a ribbon attached to your portifilo (similar to the Karma thing).

THis way the webby guys don't have too much extra work to do and we all get to participate even if we don't get to enter a fish.

If webby is busy and can't get to update straight away it doesn't matter because we all will know who has bragging rights that month.

Like I say - just a thought.

yeah, I've had similar thought about that Brian. Only thing I can see that is strongly in favour of the way it currently is run, is that having a dedicated fish each month can give you motivation to go and target a species you've never caught.

Yeah, I also think it is good the way it is. Encourages people to catch a different type of fish each month.

maybe we could have both.

have the original FOM with the one species voted on by the moderators and webbies.

and also have a -Best Fish Of the Month- voted on by everyone regardless of the species.

Prizes would just be an added bonus.
