Hi all,

am hoping to head out this weekend into the bay. was wondering if anyone has had any joy this week fishing for tuna, mackeral, kingies, etc?

my dad went out offshore and on there way out he said there was a fair few schools of 10kg longtails round moreton

Havn't caught any, but on Good Friday, we went out to Mud Island an we saw a couple of schools of 1m+ Longtails working the surface. We didn't bother chasing them, although we saw a boat give it a go. He did everything right, but when he got within 60m of them they went down

i'm heading out there myself mate. my fingers are crossed. a mate of mine got 4 mackeral last week at our favourite "spot x" and got a nice longtail in the channel off bulwer. here's hoping!!!! :woohoo:

Saw a fair few small schools of Longtails around Peel on Wednesday, I chased them for a while, but dont really have any experience chasing palegics and had no hook ups. Saw a report on another site, and he got 2 (around 9-10kgs) north of Peel on wed. There only small schools and scare very easily.

I read a few reports on AKFF about some action off the Sunny coast around Caloundra and also some tuna feeding really close in off Bagara near Bundy.

have noticed that usually they hang around then northern parts off peel. we chased them for 2 hours one day and not 1 hook up, but thats the way the cookie crumbles
