Dog Friendly Beach Camping Spots

The missus and I are looking at going camping again soon, only this time we want to take our dog with us (border collie). Usually when we go camping we stay in caravan parks and we are both a bit over that.

So what we want is somewhere within 3-4 hrs of Brisbane suitable for a weekend getaway, that is on the coast somewhere AND dog friendly! My additional wishes are somewhere close to good surf fishing beaches and/or rock fishing spots or even just a good saltwater fishing spot of any kind. Her additional wishes are a toilet of some kind (basically anything that doesn't involve taking a shovel and finding somewhere to hide).

If the above doesn't exist, we'd settle for a dog friendly caravan park within 3-4hrs from Brisneyland.

So any suggestions???

Flinders Beach on North Stradbroke Island is a good spot:) We've taken our Kelpie x Cattle Dog there once or twice. Good fishing as well:cheer:

Oh really thats great, thanks for that cowfish, we thought about straddie, but for some reason we thought it was a dog free island... duh that's Fraser isn't it... :blush:

Any other suggestions anyone???

I got the Mrs searching for a book we bought a few years back. Dog freindly camping spots in Australia. We let you know when i find it.

South Stradbroke is a national park, as is Moreton, but North Stradbroke is good for dogs:cheer: Really nice camping on the beach:)

yep i stayed at flinders as well pretty good there, got the natural dunnies there and a bin full of fire wood to from what i remember

Sounds like Flinders is the go then, now just gotta wait a while to take a couple more sickies & we'll be right!
