As Ian mentioned in another post I have just sold my Hydrofield to Rumrunner. He came around this arvo to do a compression test and listen to motor run. Compressions were good but when we started it the motor coughed and blurted. Sounded like it had a feed of baked beans. It was very embarrassing as it previously had run perfectly all the time.

Ian eventually diagnosed that the top 2 carbys were starving.

The only reason I could put it down to was that I had disconnected all the fuel lines to remove the cables for the sounder which I am keeping.Must have got a bit of gunk in the hoses when I reconnected them.

Sorry to see it go as it is a very comfortable and seaworthy boat but just too big and heavy for me to move around with my bum shoulder.

I am picking up a 4.6 m stacer on friday. Will be a bit of a comedown. Really liked being a boatie hoon zipping around at 70kph.
