Pimpama River 10/9

Had my first Fishing trip to the Pimpama River yesterday with a work mate.

Arrived at the ramp at 5:45.

The weather was looking perfect and the expectation was high.

Put 4 pots in just in case there were some crabs on the move.

Spent about 2 hours drifting and bouncing a variety of soft plastics around with only a couple of touches so ended up putting on one of my favourite combinations of a small spinner blade with an Atomic soft plastic. We had a lot of good hits over the next 5 hours but only managed to land 2 keeper 37cm & a 41cm flatties.

Decided to pull the pots about 13:00 but the bait wasn’t even touched.

The area has some great looking territory but much of it was very shallow.

Although there wasn’t a lot to brag about we still caught a feed for the mate to take home and it was a lot better day than being stuck at the office.

I have been giving the squidgy blood worm color a run and its pretty good, only caught small ones so far but they defintely go for it.
