I have caught alot of little flathead and whiting in the broadwater (gold coast) just alil south of Efriam Island on low tide with soft plastics. I think though on high tide around that area with live poddy mullet you could get some big ones! I caught a 78cm flatty around there at night.

All depends on where you are fishing... The fish in the creeks tend to get flushed out to sea with alot of rain and it tends to murky up the water too much for my liking.. Again though - everyone has a different opinion..

i love surf fishing in the rain es pecially at the mouth of a river or creek

i would love to be on north straddy at the pin bar with a couple of surf rods for the next run out tide

put out a live bait and work big plastics along the colour changes and drop offs

ive been fishing in/after the rain of an afternoon down at my local creek many times and have found to have caught alot more fish (not sure why) .

As everbody else says it depends on where u r fishing and wat u r fishing for. jew threadfin bream etc can fish well. mouths of creeks and rivers paticulary fish very well the fresh water flushes the bait out of the creeks and the bigger predators wait for them to go past. if u r not fishing for the bigger predators fish the areas closer to the mouths on the incommng tide wen the cleaner water comes in.
