What soaps do you use when showering in the bush

I have a heat exchanger in the patrol just tthrow a hose into a bucket and hot shower, got one on the boat as well

Bird baths and swims in the river, then a shower when we get home.

They work really well, especially in sun friendly QLD.

i have a glind hot water exchange connected to the car. Awesome. middle of winter, you have been beach fishing for taylor. your cold tired and covered in sand and salt and bait, i can go back to camp and have a nice warm shower before a good nights sleep

ive got the good ole canvas shower bag.... a good fire .... and a few 15 lt steel, clean as, paint drums .... throw 1 on the fire, cold water in the others, and away ya go, but a stout tree to hang it off with a small pulley setup always helps ya out ...

what soap would you blokes reccommend when havin a tub this way, close to our precious waterways ??? i have considered this but never persued it....

We just use a mild soap and stay far enough away from the water that no run off goes anywhere near the water course, about 10 meters min.

Yep.... its solar showere for me all the way. Nothing better than a nice hot shower in the afternoon before dinner. I too am conscious of my run off and make sure the waste water is far enough away to be well filtered of most stuff before running into a water way.

I remember seeing something in one of those chandlery store catalouges about soap that is non toxic all environmentally friendly, I will try and find out some more about it.

the residue left from ordinary soap in sand dirt etc must be reactvated when heavy rain occurs surely no matter how far from waterway, it must have some kind of detrimental effect.... so to know what to use responsibly would be bonus for everyone imo..

solar showers ,never have showers near the water

thats if not at a park that has showers

or a dip in the creek.

u can get environment friendly soaps

the women and girls are more into showers

i find a dip in the creek and a rub the smelly bit a bit is ok, no soap.

Shower

only time you need to do that is when you cant handle the smell of you own arse crack. Should be able to go a week without one, esp if swimming etc.:laugh:
