Fishing at Coolum on the sunshine coast?

Going away for the weekend to coolum beach if the weather clears up, i was wondering if it worth taking a rod? Is there much around. Thinking bout going to fraiser 2, if theres time.

Surf fishing off the rocks or beach near them should be good, but in the weather and swell it will be impossible and highly dangerous. I would wait for some nice weather.

There is a good patch of rocks in the surf at the mouth of Stumers Creek which is near Coolumn. This place produces bream, tailor, dart, flathead, whiting. Really only fishable if the wind drops.

Otherwise id head to the noosa river, or even the barra park for some fun.
